A caller to WMBS 590 radio talk show host, Mark Rafail, noted an article about a local situation regarding water quality
and help to those affected by an order to boil water for a while after it was revealed combination of bromide with water treament
plant clorine had deemed the water potentially hazardous.
The caller raised concerns that Democrat commissioners were not interested in the impact gas drilling had on the environment...
Rafail gave a response that we agree is the approach commissioners and citizens can take. The board of commissioners
has no authority to manage the gas extraction process - that is in the purvue of federal EPA and the state's DEP - members
of the board with concerns and citizens with such concerns should contact their federal and state representatives, and the
DEP which has oversight of the safety, environmental issues, etc.
Rafail had another caller on another issue after the comment.
